Yesterday, we published a post about the start of Neil Young’s Twisted Road solo tour. At these performances, Neil has been opening with My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue) and closing with Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black) – a pair of related songs. For this week’s Mix Tape, we look at three separate pairings of related songs including the two we mentioned by Mr. Young.

We start off with a pair of songs from Wilco’s sophomore release, Being There, which was a double album. Disc one featured Outtasite (Outta Mind), while disc two contained Outta Mind (Outta Sight). The former has a faster pace while the latter includes a few additional lyrics at the end.

Next, we move on to a band from Vermont that is making their Hidden Track debut this morning – Phish. Okay, maybe we’ve covered that band a bit in the past. Anyways, we continue with a massive Tweezer followed by Tweezer Reprise from Red Rocks ’96 and finish with the bookends of Neil Young’s Rust Never Sleeps album – My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue) and Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black).

Are there any other song pairings out there similar to these?
