As the holiday concert season kicks into full gear with this weekend’s Warren Haynes Christmas Jam in Asheville, we’ll be celebrating next week with a special feature. HT contributor Jack Spilberg spoke with members of the Brushfire Records family about what the holiday season means to them. G. Love, Mason Jennings, Money Mark, Zach Gill and Neil Halstead all talk about their participation on the This Warm December compilation of holiday songs, what they want for Christmas and much more.
Check in with us next week as we’ll publish a new interview each day. In the meantime, here’s a fresh batch of links hot from the oven…
- The Flaming Lips will curate and perform at NY ATP
- A new Arcade Fire DVD, Miroir Noir, comes out soon
- An English town names streets after Stones songs
- Have the fans convinced Trey to bring back the Ross?
- Warren’s Christmas Jam is sure to bring some surprises
- Axl Rose answers all sorts of G ‘N R-related questions
It looks like Widespread Panic won’t be taking 2009 off after all according to Jambase’s interview with percussionist Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz. In other Panic news, the band has announced the details of their second archival release: 4/8/89. Does any self-respecting Panic Freak not have that show already? We are excited to hear a pristine version, but there are so many amazing shows from ’98 – ’02 that need to see the light of day.
