From The Editor: Hampton Fever

When Ace and I first started Hidden Track way back in October 2006, we made a decision to not go crazy with our Phish coverage on the blog. We did a pretty good job of keeping a nice balance until it became clear that the band was getting back together. Couple the return of Phish with the traffic spikes we see any time the word “Trey” is mentioned in a post and that balance now tips heavily in favor of the Vermont-based quartet.

With Messrs. Fishman, Anastasio, Gordon and McConnell’s return within striking distance, Hampton Fever is reaching a fevered pitch and we’re doing our part to feed the beast. Last week, we ran Luke Sacks’ article handicapping the race for post-Breakup opener, which may come in handy if you want to win a pair of free Phish tickets from Jamtopia’s Pick The Opener contest or Phantasy Tour’s Tour Opener contest. This week, we’ll look at the solo material that may or may not make the band’s repertoire.

DaveO has put together a fantastic five-part series giving us a highly detailed overview of what each band member has been up for the past five Phish-less years. At 3PM each day for the next five days, Coventry to Hampton will contain insights, audio, video, stats and everything else you’ll need to know about how Trey, Mike, Fish and Page spent their “summer vacation.” As always, we’ll have plenty of non-Phish posts for Nazz Nomad, Douchebaggery, The Kentucky Prophet and our other readers who could care less about what songs will be played in Hampton. Thanks for reading!
