God Street Wednesday: Seapod Connection

Our pal Michael Weiss recently uploaded a set of fantastic videos from a 1996 Ominous Seapods show that we just had to share. The Seapods were longtime friends of God Street Wine and when the Upstaters needed a producer for their Jet Smooth Ride album they turned to GSW’s Lo Faber.

The Seapods opened for God Street a number of times including the second night of GSW’s legendary Irving Plaza run in December of 1996 that we discussed last month. Lo sat in with the Seapods and Michael Weiss caught all the action. Let’s check it out…

The Seapods recently reformed and their old pal Lo was on hand to support them with a solo set. We’d love both of these bands to get back together and we imagine they both would’ve loved the current festival circuit.

  1. Wow, thanks for the blast from the past. I remember seeing these guys at Wetlands and thinking, “This is the future of music.” The Seapods definitely took it to some dark and twisted places. Love it!
