God Street Wednesday: The Reunion

More A/V goodness from the May 30th God Street Wine reunion shows has surfaced and I’m surprised at how good the band sounded. As we mentioned a few weeks ago, the band got together as part of a memorial to longtime GSW taper/fan Paul Ducharme. Taper Chris Keenan recorded both the early set at West Side Presbyterian Church and the evening performances at “Reincliff” and uploaded each of ’em to the Live Music Archive.

As far as videos, take your pick from the Michael Weiss-shot clips of Hey Joe and Death Don’t Have No Mercy from Reincliff or a number of unlabeled vids from the Church. YouTuber mcortellesi also posted some great clips from Reincliff including Diana, Get On The Train, Home Again, Princess Henrietta and Electrocute. Thanks to all of those who captured the action on that magical day for those of us who couldn’t be there.

Finally, Ryan McKinney pointed us in the direction of his recording of Echofission’s sets at Mexicali from May 23rd that featured GSW guitarists Lo Faber and Aaron Maxwell sitting in as well as performing a few songs by themselves. Not a bad week for the ol’ God Street music collection.

  1. My oh my! The almighty God Street Wine! If THIS doesn’t spark a reunion, I don’t know what will. Scott, maybe you and I can start a petition or something to get the band to do a full on tour or something. Matter of fact, I say get GSW, Allgood and From Good Homes to all reunite and do a package tour of the east coast. That would hands down be the tour of the summer!

  2. CoreyS – In fact, there was no opportunity for the guys to rehearse before the get together. There was quite a bit of email communication, the Mexicali Echofission show for Lo and Aaron, and a brief session at a space in Brooklyn for Dan, Aaron and Jon….but that’s it.

    As usual…amazing coverage by Scotty!

  3. Great to hear that they played together again. Mike did you do the lights? How have ya been? are you still with Cablevision?
