While the snow may be causing havoc for many of our readers this afternoon, let’s turn our thoughts to visions of dancing on the beach to some of our favorite bands as the lineup for this year’s Hangout Music Festival has finally been announced. Headliners for the event, which takes place in Gulf Shores, AL from May 20-22, include Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket and Paul Simon. While Panic and MMJ are playing at many festivals this summer, Paul Simon hasn’t performed at many summer festivals over the years.
Hangout’s bill features plenty of HT faves such as Umphrey’s McGee, the Flaming Lips, MMW, the Drive-By Truckers, the Warren Haynes Band and Primus. The Foo Fighters are another band that doesn’t usually play the summer festie circuit that will play at the Hangout. Also look for festival favorites Michael Franti and Spearhead, Keller Williams, Trombone Shorty and Galactic on the beach in Alabama.

Last year saw the debut of the Hangout Music Fest and many fans in attendance raved about the site and the proximity to quality lodging options at all sorts of price points, not to mention the availability of shuttles to ferry festivalgoers to and from the event. Tickets for the Hangout Music Festival go on sale tomorrow, February 2nd, at 10AM EST.

Pretty sweet indeed. Pretty Lights, Girl Talk and Bassnectar? I would be cool if they all had the same spot on the three different days… maybe while a headliner was playing. Either way I’d love to be there
