Tomorrow, jam titans Widespread Panic will release their sixth archive release and this one features a performance from City Auditorium in Colorado Springs, CO that took place back on October 20, 1998. This 3-CD set is available for pre-order through the group’s online store and will be available for download starting on Tuesday.
While WSP archivist Horace Moore does a great job of listing the highlights from Colorado Springs ’98 on the Widespread Panic Archives blog, his post is well worth reading for Moore’s reflections on the late Garrie Vereen.

Finally, HT contributor Parker Harrington has put together an amazing article about the past, present and future of the Phish taping community for the Phish.net blog. Harrington spoke with longtime taper Lenny Stubbe and Phish Listening Room blogger Chris Keiner about why audience recordings offer a listening experience that can’t be matched by soundboards, their experiences and so much more. Be sure to give it a read.
