HT Giveaway: Naukabout Music Festival
For the second year in a row, Naukabout – a Cape Cod-based lifestyle brand – will present a music festival at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds on August 8, 2009 featuring a slew of jam and rock bands from around the country. Rusted Root, the Ryan Montbleau Band and Pete Francis & Barefoot Truth lead the way on what’s sure to be a fantastic day of music. Also appearing will be a couple of Cape-based bands to add some local flavor.

General admission for the 2nd Annual Naukabout Music Festival is an extremely reasonable $25 and kids under 12 years old are allowed in free of charge. Tickets are available through this website. Not only will you get to enjoy ten talented acts, you’ll also be helping to send kids to camps in upstate New York as a portion of the festival proceeds will be donated to the Fresh Air Fund.
Hidden Track is giving away two tickets to the festival for one of our lucky readers. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below with a few sentences describing what you like about any of the acts on the bill. You can only enter once and we’ll pick one entry at random. This contest ends on Tuesday, July 28 at 11:59PM so get your entry in soon. Good luck!

i booked rusted root at our college (Keuka College) in 1998. Their rider included some wierd pakistani hot sauce. It cost me like $300 out of my student activities budget and I was pissed. Turns out, they never wanted the hot sauce and it never got used. (believe me, i watched them the entire time at lunch)…sweet story. riiiiight.

I am hoping a few people can come with me to the festival, we’ve planned a few days of going to the beach, cooking, and spreading our love of some great bands. A few of us have been to a festival and seen Tin Can Tele, Barefoot Truth, and the Old Silver Band before, but for some of us it will be the first time! We are all so excited. Hoping we can organize it, it should be the highlight of the summer!

I wish I had waited to buy my tickets now! But one of my friends who knows the drummer from one of the bands said tickets are getting low so better safe then sorry. Good luck to everyone on winning the pair of tix and I cannot wait for this festival again. Last year was so much fun with perfect weather.
What I like about the acts on the bill? That they are ALL on the bill together!!

Pete Francis and Barefoot Truth have been wowing crowds whereever they’ve appeared this Spring and Summer. Barefoot Truth could well be a festival headliner next year. Be sure to catch their combined set!

The Ryan Montbleau Band is on top of their game these days, great songs, great musicians. One of my favorite Rusted Root memories was back in ‘00 when they opened for Jewel @ the Meadows in Htfd, and after their set (which scorched), half the lawn emptied in a matter of minutes as the disinterest in Jewel could not be feigned.

When I tell people I’m a big Rusted Root fan they say “are they still around?” The band has been playing better than ever and I hope to catch ‘em at Naukabout.

I’m a huge Ryan Montbleau Band fan as I love Ryan’s voice and the instrumental skills of the band members. Combine that with the beautiful scenery of the Cape and this sounds like a can’t miss festival.
