Is RAQ Coming BAQ? Facebook Page Hints At Reunion

Since the members of ’00s jam act RAQ went their separate ways in 2008 they’ve gotten back together for the sporadic gig, the most recent of which took place last summer the 2011 Big Up Festival. Guitarist Chris Michetti has found success as a now full-time member of Conspirator while keyboardist Todd Stoops has been touring relentlessly with the impressive funk-fusion band Kung Fu. Yesterday, the group’s Facebook Page came alive with an exciting update…

For me, I finally saw the quartet live in late 2006 and by the time I realized how much I enjoyed their shred-heavy sound they had broken up. RAQ’s Carbohydrates Are The Enemy hits the same musical emotions that songs such as Reba, Glory and Morning Dew hit; while Walking In Circles is just a cleverly-crafted rock song and Sweet Cream Butter has the perfect tinge of humor to break things up in the middle of one of their sets. However they didn’t draw huge crowds, despite their massive talent and inventive sound. We have no idea what the next era for RAQ will involve, if indeed there is one, but we wouldn’t mind the band getting another chance to show the world what they got.

We’ll keep you posted on any future update, but for now let’s take a look at a fine version of the aforementioned Carbohydrates Are The Enemy from 2005 complete with Dixie teases…
