Jason Crosby Sits In With Furthur @ Colorado Finale

Furthur concluded a three-show stand at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado last night, where they welcomed multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby to sit in on violin and organ at various points in the evening. Crosby first came to bassist Phil Lesh’s attention last November when he guested on the final Phil & Friends show at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair. The former God Street Wine, Zen Tricksters and Robert Randolph and the Family Band member then played with both Lesh and Furthur guitarist Bob Weir as part of the first West Coast Rambles of 2013 in January and also performed with the Terrapin Family Band at various Terrapin Crossroads affairs this winter.

Jason Crosby first emerged towards the beginning of last night’s second set to add fiddle to Cumberland Blues. He brought his violin back later for Days Between before switching to organ for Eyes of the World. When Furthur returned for the encore, they brought Crosby with them to play organ on Brokedown Palace. Take a look at the Brokedown Palace from last night…
