Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton to Play MSG
As we await the first multi-night run of Phish shows at Madison Square Garden in 11 years, we came across word that another fantastic act will play The Garden in February. Former Yardbirds Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck will team up for three North American shows including one at MSG on February 18.
Beck & Clapton – I Want To Take You Higher (live in Japan)
Or course, Clapton and Beck weren’t in the Yardbirds at the same time, as Beck replaced Clapton in 1965 but the two have remained friends ever since. The two guitar greats played a pair of shows in Japan earlier this year that featured sets from each band as well as a few collaborations. According to Where’s Eric, the North American shows will feature a joint set that will run longer than the ones in Japan. We can’t wait!
Tickets for the MSG show go on-sale December 12. The other two shows take place in Montreal (Feb. 22) and Toronto (Feb. 21).

Clapton and Beck are also the two successive lead guitarists on Roger Water’s great solo albums — Pros and Cons & Amused to Death.
