Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York hosted a special Midnight Ramble on Saturday night that featured Furthur drummer Joe Russo behind the kit and contributions from vocalist Catherine Russell. The Larry Campbell-led Levon Helm Band rambled through many Grateful Dead classics with the help of their guests on Saturday including Mississippi Half-Step, New Speedway Boogie and Sugaree in addition to the traditional biblical tune Samson and Delilah.

In other Levon Helm Studios news, the Woodstock, New York barn will host a special event on Friday, September 21 dubbed Jimmy Vivino presents The Band Songs – A Celebration of Richard, Rick & Levon. Vivino is expected to be joined by special guest Garth Hudson as well as co-horts Jim Weider, Randy Ciarlante and Byron Isaacs. Tickets are on sale now. Jimmy first presented The Band Songs at Levon Helm Studios last month and performed a slew of the group’s well-known songs and deep cuts.
