Joy Now Available For Pre-Order

If you need a new piece of furniture for your house you should check out the large and in charge Joy box set – the details of which were announced today by Phish. Besides the regular  ol’ CD and vinyl options, the band’s first release in five years will be available as part of the Joy Box, a limited edition deluxe box set on sale through Dry Goods for $75. Here’s what you get…

In addition to the new CD, the Joy Box will contain 10 individual drawers, which hold limited edition posters designed for each of the album’s 10 songs, plus Party Time, a second complete album, a hardbound book with lyrics, artwork and more and a DVD capturing live performances from the first half of Phish’s sold-out summer 2009 tour. The DVD features the band performing each song from Joy, with footage from the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, the tour’s opening dates at Fenway Park in Boston and many other stops. The Joy Box will ship in early October.

Since the box set and vinyl won’t be available until early October, those who order either will be able to download MP3s of Joy when it’s released on September 8. All versions of Joy are available for preorder at Dry Goods and anyone who pre-orders any configuration of the release will automatically be entered to win a travel package for two (including air fare, hotel and tickets) to Phish’s Festival 8, which will take place October 30th, 31st and November 1st at The Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.

Will you buy the Joy Box or the vinyl or the regular CD release?

  1. I’m buying the box and the vinyl. What’s going to be on Party Time? Some sites say it’s going to be an entire album and others say it’s going to be soundchecks and demos. I want to win the trip!
