Karl Denson Loves Covering Albums – Video of Sticky Fingers and Greyboy Allstars’ West Coast Boogaloo NYE Announcement

When we first broke the news that Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe would team up with Anders Osborne to perform the Rolling Stones’ landmark Sticky Fingers LP at venues across the country, we had a bit of doubt as to how it would come out. Now that the tour is reaching its end, we’ve had ample chance to judge the results and we think the performers crushed it.

We’ve compiled a playlist of KDTU w/ Anders Osborne playing Sticky Fingers and while we weren’t able to find any decent footage of You Gotta Move, Sister Morphine and Moonlight Mile as performed by the ensemble, we’ve included the Stones’ album tracks in their place. So check it out, we especially dig their versions of Sway, Brown Sugar and Dead Flowers…

KDTU w/ Anders – Sticky Fingers Playlist

Karl and the crew stopped by KBCO in Denver on Halloween to play a few tracks…

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Anders have a few Sticky Fingers gigs left, so if you haven’t had a chance to catch ’em, you can check ’em out at Neumo’s in Seattle tonight, Mt. Tabor Theatre in Portland tomorrow or next weekend at Bear Creek or at the Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina on November 12.

In other Denson-related news, Karl will team up with Greyboy Allstars to perform their classic West Coast Boogaloo album in its entirety with Fred Wesley, along with other GBA and JBs classics, at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, Calif. on Dec. 30 and The Independent in San Francisco on New Year’s Eve. Tickets are available now.
