Langerado Cancelled – Again
Trying to stage a music festival in South Florida isn’t an easy feat. Back in 2009, the original producers of the Langerado Music Festival had to cancel the event and now, Boros Entertainment, who were set to bring Langerado back to South Florida in October, have just announced that they have “regretfully cancelled Langerado (2011).”

We heard no buzz or excitement about this fest, and Northerners who may have made the trip in the winter months, may not have been willing to fly down so soon after the summer. Death Cab For Cutie, Trey Anastasio, Ween, Thievery Corporation and Ben Harper were all set to perform at the doomed Langerado 2011. Is having Trey and Ben on the same bill the kiss of death after Zooma and now this? Well Hangout survived after having them both play in 2010, so perhaps not. Call 888-512-SHOW for a full refund if you had purchased tickets for Langerado 2011.

NOTE: Hangout flourished. Completely sold out.
Not in 2010, but certainly this year. Just having fun w/ the Trey/Ben connection. They had nothing to do with this.
Trey should add a couple shows in Philly, AC,NYC.
This was less unfortunate than when it was canceled last year, but we still caught a smokin’ Umphrey’s show at UMiami (guessing over 3,000). Many were thrown off by that first cancellation, and the change of venue (twice) as well as last-minute concessions (“now we have camping”) indicate it wasn’t planned well. At least the first cancel could blame Phish’s triumphant return to Hampton (worst possible timing). It’s unlikely after a festie has ditched twice that it’ll rise from the ashes. At least we had a blast at the last one! Also good points about Hangout…they blew the doors off expectations (so, good planning). It’s also timing…but that’s a much trickier dimension to manage.
