There are interesting things going on over at the Bela Fleck camp. With saxophonist Jeff Coffin gigging full-time with Dave Matthews Band, the Flecktones have reverted to their 1992 lineup that features Howard Levy on keyboards and harmonica. This track was off the 1991 Grammy nominee album Flight Of The Cosmic Hippo. The Flecktones play tonight at The Melkweg in Amsterdam and are back in the USA starting November 18th at the Strathmore in Bethesda Maryland.

Club D’Elf, whose website now describes them as a “Moroccan-dosed psychedelic-dub–jazz collective”, is an ensemble led by bassist Mike Rivard and features a rotating cost of musicians from gig-to-gig. Last Friday’s lineup featured: Paul Schulthies (keyboards), Vicente Lebron (percussion) and Dean Johnston (drums). D’Elf plays Friday November 20th at The Lizard Lounge and Saturday November 28th at The Stone Church in Newmarket, New Hampshire.

Artist & Title: Guster – Two Points For Honesty

Guster has been on the road celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album Lost And Gone Forever by performing it in its entirety. I have said this before – I love this concept and hope it stays popular. Guster has two more performances of the album on their itinerary, two sold out shows at NYC’s Beacon Theater.

The Meat Puppets are in the middle of a big tour that has them tonight at Otto’s in Dekalb, Illinois followed by three nights at Schuba’s in Chicago. This track of course comes off the legendary album Meat Puppets II.

This track is originally off the 2008 album Free Somehow, the first WSP album to feature lead guitarist Jimmy Herring. Fans of Bob Lefsetz should check out his recent review of Panic’s recent three-night stand at the Orpheum in LA, it’s entertaining. The band starts another run of three shows at the same venue tomorrow at Oakland’s Fox Theater.
