Artist & Title: the Disco Biscuits – Donde?
Date & Venue: 2009-09-12 Starland Ballroom, Sayreville NJ
Taper & Show Download: Jesse Hurlburt
the Disco Biscuits didn’t hit their goal of releasing their next studio album before Chinese Democracy, but Planet Anthem IS slated for a January 2010 release. The Biscuits also have announced they will be issuing three EP’s leading up to January, the first of which is due this month. There is no tracklist available, so I can’t tell you if Donde? is on the album, but it was debuted at this September 12th show. tDB have just started an extended fall tour, they’ve got today off and play tomorrow in Fayetteville, AR.

Artist & Title: Mike Gordon – 15 Steps, Only A Dream
Date & Venue: 2009-09-12 State Theatre, Falls Church VA
Taper & Show Download: Ned Struzziero
The members of Phish were busy last week. Mike Gordon is on the road with the same band he was touring with last winter, and I’ve chosen this 1-2 punch of a Radiohead cover and Only A Dream. Mike debuted Only A Dream last year with this band and it has also been recorded by Phish and will be on the Party Time EP. Gordon’s tour continues for the rest of September, the band plays the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta tomorrow.

Artist & Title: Soulive – Signed, Sealed, Delivered
Date & Venue: 2009-09-12 Pines Theatre, Florence MA
Taper & Show Download: corey the groundhog
This past weekend, Soulive celebrated their 10th anniversary as a band at the first annual Royal Family Get Down. As anyone could have predicted, the day was filled with a lot of guest appearances by members of other bands on the bill. One of the highlights was this ridiculously fast-tempo Stevie Wonder cover that welcomed both Nigel Hall and Sharon Jones to the stage. Soulive has a bunch of upcoming California tour dates in the coming 10 days, seven shows in five different California cities to be exact.

Artist & Title: Trey Anastasio & The NY Philharmonic – You Enjoy Myself
Date & Venue: 2009-09-12 Carnegie Hall, New York NY
Taper & Show Download: Dave Flaschner & Rob Adler
There’s no need for me to sit here and summarize what happened at Carnegie Hall this past weekend, because ScottyB already took care of that. For my part, I’ll just embed the audio and the video and let this performance speak for itself.

Artist & Title: Umphrey’s McGee – Utopian Fir > Trenchtown Rock
Date & Venue: 2009-09-11 La Zona Rosa, Austin TX
Taper & Show Download: Lee Hart
UM has been sharing a lot behind-the-scenes stuff on their blog The Floor since it launched earlier this year. On Friday, they had a post NYC Retrospective, where they look back on the events of September 11th, 2001; a night UM kept their gig and played in Ithaca NY at The Haunt. They also played The Lion’s Den in New York City just three days later. You can hear in the background of some audio they include from 9/11/2001, the gentle strumming of Trenchtown Rock, a cover they played later that night, at the NYC 9/14/2001 gig and last Friday marking the 8th anniversary. Also included in this audio segment is UM original Utopian Fir, complete with a “Jimmy Stewart w/lyrics”. UM plays tonight at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas.
