Hey, so, how much of Deaner’s bad reaction is attributable to the fact that the album is getting mixed to subpar reviews? If the album were praised and getting good buzz on the boards, don’t you think he’d be a little less stung by this?

Deaner made it clear that it wasn’t about anything except audio quality and cover art — and that’s ABSOLUTELY fine, and he’s right about that. But is that a smokescreen? I’m not trying to play the role of douchebag here — I like Ween, and I want them to sell albums — but maybe if the album were better, they’d get a much better return on that loan.

Just my two cents.

1) it sucks ween got ripped off, but stop bitching about it. also, why in the hell did ween have to take out a loan to finish an album before the label was around? Guess they shouldn’t have botched their jingle contract w/ pizza hut, aye dean and gene. That’s the time we live in. To punch the messenger’s face is a tad excessive, aye? but we really wouldn’t expect otherwise from ween, right. Besides–Free media copies is soooo pre-internet.

2) velvet revolver talked about in the same breath as “selling out”? I am floored by this. You mean the reincarnation of 3 great hard rock bands slinging lingerie is ‘selling out’? Someone better tell Gene Simmons to drop his Kiss Bikini CarWash idea before people get the wrong idea about Kiss’s ideals.
