Well-preserved archival live music’s not very tough to find, if you’re looking in the right spots (and you’re not a wall-eyed doof). And when I’m bored at work, or when I wish to tune out the bland chick next to me, I hit the SugarMegs bookmark and row gently down the audio streams. The problem is, it’s almost too plentiful — there’s just too much shit in there. So here are five shows from the streaming archive I’ve hand-picked for your enjoyment. Now enjoy them…
- Arcade Fire — Sam Boyd Stadium, Vegoose — 10/30/05
- Neil Young w/ Booker T & The (sorta) MGs — 6/26/93
- Cannonball Adderley Quintet — Funkhaus, Germany — 3/19/69
- Benevento/Mathis/Dillon — Tritone in Philly — 3/11/07
- Elton John — Fillmore West — 11/12/70 (great stuff)
And for those of you actually seeing Arcade Fire next week…congratulations. You’re really awesome. You’ve won at life. We salute you. Eat shit.
