As we mentioned, Kevin Shapiro spun an epic special edition of Phish – From The Archives yesterday afternoon once the Walnut Creek broadcast was finished. He dropped a number of long-awaited gems including the Turbo Gin from PNC (Bathtub Gin – 6/28/2000), the Ghostly Slave (7/4/1999) and a mammoth type-II Reba (8/16/1993). If you missed the broadcast you can still hear the tracks thanks to Phantasy Tour’s CrazyED. Be sure to clear your desk before jumping into these tunes.
The other news to come out of the broadcast is that 12/30/1997 and 5/17/1992 are likely to be the next Live Phish releases. I think I just plotzed!
Enough about Phish, here’s some other must downloads:
- My Morning Jacket – The Okonokos Project [via Steam Engine]
- Radiohead Covers Compilation [via the Coventry Music Blog]
- ABB w/ Jerry and Billy – 12/31/1973 SBD [via Musical Stew Daily]
- Steely Dan – Metal Leg ’74 Remaster FLAC [via Quality Boots]
- Bob Dylan – Blood On The Tracks Outtakes [via Music Junkie]
- Cream – The BBC Sessions 1966-1968 [via The Ultimate Boot]
- Creedence Clearwater Revival 7/4/1971 SBD [via Doublepark]
- Radiohead – XM Broadcast of Lollapalooza [via Steam Engine]
Finally, we’d like to congratulate Jesse Jarnow for turning his eclectic Frow Show Podcasts into a radio show on WFMU. The Frow Show on WFMU begins with an episode this Saturday, 8/23, as part of The Listener Hour, from 9 am – 10 am. Be sure to tune in or stream JJ’s show on Saturday morning. We knew him when!
