Open Thread: Did You Score Phish Tickets?

We’re down to one final chance for Phish fans to score tickets via official channels. At 10AM EDT Phish’s Hampton Run will go onsale at Ticketmaster.com. What do you do? Do you go for the three night package or take a chance at getting two tickets for one of the three shows? Good luck to all, and let us know how you fare by leaving a comment below…

I find it strange that Ticketmaster has another company that sells scalped tickets. Don’t you think that is a conflict of interest and possibly illegal.

Got denied at TM.com this morning. I am pissed. Ticketmaster sucks. But now Ticketsnow which is owned by Ticketmaster is selling them for $500 a piece. How many tickets did Ticketmaster keep for itself to sell at insanely inflated prices and how many tickets did Ticketmaster actually sell to the public? This is BS that we can’t get tickets for face value. Phish should not put up with this crap. According to Phish it is not ok to scalp tickets above face value, but apparently it is ok for Ticketmaster to sell them through a sister company.
Scored two 3-day passes for me and the lady friend
I got the 3 day pass and my girlfriend scored 3 days through the lottery for me. Looks like our touring crew is going to be able to get back on the train.
Man, I got shut out again this morning. I don’t know what to do. When the shit starts flying I want to be there. Talking about shit; I’d eat a big nutty turd to rage in Hampton. Fuck it, I’d eat a big turd for the fuck of it!
Hey guys, here’s a petition I think we should all check out. I mean, it’s worth a shot, right? Ticketmaster reselling tickets under the guise of a Ticketsnow affiliate is just wrong. True Phish phans unite!

Bob C, I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s ridiculous what this corporation is about. I am upset with Phish management for using this method for such a highly anticipated reunion. Why can’t they hire their own people to handle the process like they did years ago with mail order? I bet the real fans would pay an extra few bucks to pay for the cost of having it done that way, i.e. I’d rather pay a “service fee” to Phish than to Ticketmaster. I agree they should do something about the scaplers. Doing nothing says to everybody that it’s ok for things to be done that way.
its frustrating that i was not able to get tickets. what is more frustrating is that someone on ticketsnow.com has 10 tickets to sell for $500 each. The buyer limit was two, and i don’t see how you could possibly get in to the ticketmaster site 5 times this morning. organized scalping is all that ticketsnow.com is. i am rooting for a simulcast, as well as a healthy spring tour shortly after the hampton shows.

I and all my friends were able to get 2 or 4 each. Funny thing is, we never heard of phish. Someone on eventexperts.net told us to buy them and sell them to fish fans. If you are in need of tix and have alot of cash leave me a message. $400/ticket min. I have tix for each day and several 3 day passes.

@Bob C: Ticketmaster owns TicketsNow but in most cases* not the tickets being sold on TicketsNow. It’s just another secondary marketplace like StubHub or eBay that takes a cut of the action.
One positive note about TicketsNow is that under certain circumstances if your even is canceled you can actually get a refund for the market price you paid.
* According to their site, “on occasion tickets may be placed for sale on TicketsNow by Ticketmaster for example when a transaction on Ticketmaster’s TicketExchange is subsequently cancelled and Ticketmaster resells the ticket to mitigate a loss it has incurred.”
Really curious as to how frequently and in what circumstances this occurs.
yeah ok so i waited and and waited and it did the 15 minute thing so i didnt touch my computer… so then i had two tix…then email and name page… then billing information page… then… click this button and your credit card will be charged… clicked the button… then there was an error in placing my order… but wait ticketnow has them for 500 bucks a piece here buy them from here! ticketmasters owned company you already know what was up with that!
Rob…people like you are why our economy is in shambles. People like are what is wrong with this country. People like you are going to hell. NO ONE BUY SCALPED TICKETS. Let Hampton be 1/3 empty.

Congrats SF. But damn that ticks me off a little bit. Calling other satellite TM outlets was one of my strategies but they told me they couldn’t sell me tickets and I had to call one of the listed numbers.
I’m not happy with this whole situation, but they’ll announce a bunch of shows soon and maybe I’ll get to go to one. It’s sad that so many people choose make their living off of the misery of others. Look, it’s a free country and Ticketbastard plus the proliferation of scalping sites makes it easy to do. I’m not making a federal case out of it. But people who brag about making others pay 10x face for concert tickets are pretty much the scum of the earth. You say “supply and demand.” I say “you are a degenerate asshole.” I guess we’re both right.

didn’t even try on Sat AM; on a whim tried for 3 day pass this aftenroon and no dice. Tried for 1 Friday and got it… the kick in the nuts is I can’t go… and sorry, I have plenty of friends who are going and need this so I can’t swing it your way.
Don’t give up hope… got NYE 02′ on re-release too…
