Paul McCartney Says He’d Like to Collaborate With Thom Yorke

In the realm of fantasy musical collaborations, Paul McCartney and Thom Yorke has to be one of the greats. In a new interview with NME, Macca notes his admiration for the Radiohead frontman but worries Yorke wouldn’t be interested in working on music together.

“I’m a bit sort of paranoid to just ring him up,” McCartney said. “‘Hey Thom, it’s Paul here. What do you fancy, what are you doing? Do you fancy writing something?’ Just in case he says, ‘Er, actually I’m busy.’”

Sir Paul says his family — specifically his daughter Stella — really want him to pursue the idea. Meanwhile, he remains interested in working with another legend (Mr. Bob Dylan) at some point down the road. “I’ve still got that in the back of my mind,” he said.

McCartney’s new album, New, will hit stores on October 15th in the U.S.
