Phish Alpine Valley 2010: DVD Box Set
Back in August, Phish put together two fabulous shows on August 14th and 15th at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI. According to Direct Current, the band will release a box set featuring audio and video from the pair of landmark performances on December 14th called Alpine Valley 2010.
While Alpine Valley 2010 will feature all of the first show (8/14), it will only include select tracks from the second show (8/15). All tracks were recorded using seven cameras and 57 channels of digital multitrack audio. No official word from the band yet, but an Amazon.com pre-order page is already live with a price of $34.99. Exciting, but would be much more exciting if they picked the best shows of the summer, i.e. MPP2, Charlotte, or even some from JB. Ok, but weird.
the liner notes of clifford ball dvd say it is the first in a series. which means great went should be next. this is the wrong box set for phish to release next.
They were good shows. I think it’s time Phish had an Alpine DVD anyways.
Being my 20th show and my home venue, I look forward to this release. Sure hope to find myself finding Jesus!

Finally Alpine gets some recognition for being a venue to memorialize. And what 2 great shows to do it with… Too bad Alpine 8/1/1998 was not a consideration.

I think this DVD is to satisfy the new phan and it is too soon to release another DVD. I agree with the other posters in that if their gonna release an alpine DVD it should of been the 99′ show with the 4 song encore: Alumi Blues, Glide, Camel Walk and Tweezer Reprise. Not only did the whole audience gasp with these three raririties at the time, but the show as a whole encompassed Phish as a whole with some funk, orchestral songs and humor. Also the softness and explosiveness that they can produce on any given night. All that being said their probably wasnt any cameras at the venue, so all this thought is for not! One last thing I’m glad they didn’t do Zeppelin because I couldn’t make it to the show, but for all who did ” Time does Love a hero” and so do I! peace from Illadelphia

I miracled alot of people into this show who had never seen Phish before and they got hooked they’re first time seeing this amazingly original band. I am very glad they released a DVD for it based on the fact that it was an extremely well balanced show and a perfect eye opener for someone who has not or newly experienced the band. Way to go Phish for dropping the bomb about a 2010 DVD release only days after killing “Waiting For Columbus” by Little Feat for their long anticipated Halloween show and all around, playing an amazing three days in Atlantic City all together. Way to go boys. You never cease to amaze
Yeah these shows were the Bomb I def love me some fall tour the band seems to just play sicker shows indoors and during the fall/winter yet every summer theres some shows that make you realize why you just drove your allready fucked up whip to bumblefuck IN to camp on a shotgun totin dudes backyard it’s because Phish absolutlely destroys this place they have yet to play a bad show at alpine valley. I saw my first show there in 97 having been arrested 2 days prior w 7 felony drug charges hanging over my head and my mom screaming at me to get home I said fuck it either way when i go home im fucked so why not see some sick music beforehand.And man that show/tour was awesome bc the funk was starting to emerge ..Oh my friend has the sickest Pin ever from this show on ebay right now its the puzzle piece dueling dragons one half is the alpine logo and dates the other is the deer creek logo and dates its by the dude who was making the Trey guitar neck puzzle pin sets that the waterwheel was selling for 175 or 200 but those were sick as hell too. Cant wait to see this again.peace bitches see ya in NY
The first night at Alpine was show # 50 for me. I would love to have this on DVD. It was a great run!
great DVD and looks awesome in HD. Only problem is that there is a glitch in disk one, it can be annoying, I might be confusing this with coral sky. But i remember returning it twice at best buy and finally when 3rd had same exact glitch i just keep it.
