I like how they are structuring the sets this tour. 1st set is all about tight composed songs, leaving most of the improv, segues, jamming, etc. for the 2nd set. I was in syracuse last night and there was definately a completely different feel between the 2 sets.

Also, they are definately not creating these setlists before they take the stage...maybe they have a few things in mind, but I was very close to the stage last night and you could see that Trey is coming up with much of the material on-the-fly.

Highlights (there were A LOT):

Bowie, Julius, KDF, Funky Bitch, Boogie on Reggae Woman, BBFCFM, Theme, Maze, First Tube, Good Times Bad Times

derek... shug said FIRST SETS, and that is 100% correct. It looks and sounds to me like they're planning each setlist. what's the deal with the bowie opener followed by julius? a closer followed by an opener? and putting kill devil falls between sparkle and lawn boy? something is up here, they are creating a different feel of sets than in years past. and their jams sound more holistic, no more trey as the front man. they're all just playin' in the band. this ol' timer is lovin this. keep it goin' boys. i have a feeling philly is going to be the highlight of the tour...
