Phish @ Jones Beach, Night One: Setlist

Phish Summer Tour 2010 reached its last stop last night for the first of two shows at Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY. Phish made six appearances at the waterfront venue between 1992 and 1995, but didn’t return until June of 2009 when they played three gigs there.

The first set was song based with blazing covers of Cities and Walk Away as well as gorgeous versions of Reba and the first Fluffhead opener since Hampton. For Wilson guitarist Trey Anastasio broke out a toy guitar that he stroked during the heavy section towards the end of the tune.

Set Two featured a heavily jammed out Backwards Down The Number Line and a rare mid-set Rock and Roll smack dab in the middle of Mike’s Groove. Prince Caspian continues to sport an interesting jam section and segued into Rock and Roll this time. Besides BDTNL, Simple contained sick exploration as well and Weekapaug finally returned to its former glory thanks to a lengthy funk jam. We’ll have Eric Ward’s review and Adam Kaufman’s photos up soon. Phish returns to Jones Beach this evening to close out the tour.
