Phish Officially Announces Chicago ’94 Box Set

Earlier this month we discovered that Phish was planning on digging into their vault to release a 6-CD box set called Chicago ’94. Made up of two legendary performances which took place at the UIC Pavilion on June 18, 1994 and November 25, 1994; Chicago ’94 marks the first archival release from that magical year in the band’s history since 2005. Today, Phish has officially announced Chicago ’94 and revealed pre-order details and bundle availability.

As we mentioned, in addition to every note from both shows, as recorded by Paul Languedoc, Chicago ’94 will include material from the soundchecks as well as new artwork from Jim Pollock. Those who pre-order the set from Dry Goods will receive one of six Limited Edition Pollock baseball trading cards.

Check out a few samples of this release:

During last night’s Phish webcast, fans were given a taste of Chicago ’94 when the beginning of the epic David Bowie from June 18, 1994 was broadcast on the stream. The newly remastered track sounded fantastic and certainly whet our appetites even more for this release. It hits stores on July 31.

  1. The second set of 6/18/94 is one of my favorites of all time. This was one of those that sealed the deal when I was getting into them back then, and has always been one of my coveted tapes from those days. I’d never heard anything like that Mind Left Body from Peaches>Bowie. I can’t wait to hear it fully remastered!
