Picture Show: Mike Gordon Band in Buffalo
As we mentioned yesterday, the Mike Gordon Band completed their second full tour this past weekend with shows in Toronto, Buffalo and South Burlington, VT. On Saturday night at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo, photographer Tammy Wetzel captured the Mike Band in action.

On a personal note, I’ve admired the photography of Tammy Wetzel since long before Ace and I started Hidden Track. I’m honored to welcome her to the HT Team starting with this set of Mike Gordon Band pictures and I hope we’ll be showing you plenty of her work in the years to come.

we see the culmination of this freshness come across ten fold, as this is not simply a collection of new tunes, but a reinvention of sorts. With this album, the band puts forth sweeping changes.
In chatting with Erik Yates, the man behind the barn-burning banjo and guitar picking as well as those signature HBR woodwind accents, he made it clear that this is simply to be considered an “evolution” rather than a true change in direction. Still, there is certainly a lot to take note of and good reason to renew interest in what Hot Buttered Rum is doing.
