Prince Mea Culpa: Duets With Jennifer Hudson and Offers Free United Center Tickets To Monday After Show Attendees
Prince has brought his act to The Windy City this week for three performances at the United Center which were each followed by aftershows at the more intimate House of Blues. The week got off to a rough start for The Purple One whose set at the United Center on Monday was marred by sound issues. Then, at Monday’s aftershow, Prince wound up not playing a note for those who had stood around for hours awaiting his arrival. Prince said the police shut down the show, while the cops said a 4AM curfew was agreed upon beforehand.
Obviously those in attendance at the House of Blues on Monday were pissed off and according to Time Out Chicago started yelling “we’ve been had!” and “we want refunds!” To Prince’s credit, he did actually show his head on Monday and explained his side of the situation. Now, after more apologies, Prince will offer free tickets to tonight’s show at the United Center to those who attended the aftershow on Monday. Not only that, by all accounts last night’s performances at both the United Center AND House of Blues were fantastic. Jennifer Hudson even sang Nothing Compares 2 U with Prince on Tuesday at the United Center.
For those who attended Monday’s show, head to Dr. Funkenberry for more details on how to get your free ticket for tonight’s performance at the United Center.
