It’s been a long fucking week here at HT HQ — longer than the last note in A Day in the Life — so let’s head into the weekend on the fun side of rock ‘n roll.

Buffalo’s Armcannon calls itself a glorified video game cover band, playing intricately arranged versions of nostalgic themes. But for this number below they’ve branched out into 1980s movie songs, and the end result is something I’ve been begging bands to do for years: Have fun while putting an original spin on a recognizable tune (how many fucking times do I have to ask someone to rock the shit out of the This Is Budweiser jingle?). This version isn’t nearly as crisp as the one on the band’s MySpace page, but it does feature the drummer layin’ it down while dressed as a slice of pizza, and that counts for something. Bottom line, this is the best Ghostbusters theme ever, and Armcannon is now my favorite band ever.
