Several years ago, the three piece Brooklyn-via-Dallas psychedelic hard rock act The Secret Machines seemed poised for big things after having released two well received albums, playing an incendiary late-night set at Bonnaroo, completing a co-headlining tour with KoL and an inventive in-the-round tour of their own. A funny thing happened though amongst all the praise, guitarist Benjamin Curtis left the band leaving his brother Matt and drummer Josh Garza to figure out if and how they would continue as a band.

Fast forward a year and a half later – after a number of shows with a rotating cast of guitar players the band invited former Tripping Daisy’s member Phil Karnats on board to fill the vacated slot.

The band recently released their latest self-titled effort, that picks up where the band last left off. Let’s check out the trippy, acid drenched video for the first single of the new album – Atomic Heels…

These guys have always impressed the hell out me with their live show, despite what Ace might have said.
