Pullin’ ‘Tubes: Potato Waves Make Me Fries
Usually in this space we try to dig up videos that fly far under the radar or ones that are brand new to the clusterfuck that is the world wide web. Today, though, I’m not willing to pretend I discovered this brilliant clip; this one’s been making the rounds, and I’m not ashamed to pile onto the gushing praise for the person that put this together. As far as misheard lyrics go, I’m not sure it gets any better than this homemade video of Pearl Jam’s Yellow Ledbetter. If you’ve seen this before, enjoy it again. Slade Sohmer
In 2006 Slade Sohmer founded Hidden Track along with current EiC Scott Bernstein. Slade ran the site until 2008, establishing a scope of coverage and level of professionalism that still exists today. In 2010 Sohmer founded HyperVocal with Lee Brenner and the "purveyors of the vital and viral" have gone on to create a network of highly acclaimed sites that includes Headlines That Suck, Weeping Elvis, Distriction and Spike The Water Cooler.

[...] My favorite part of the show, outside of the Spanish announcers that introduce every song to the radio audience, is the second encore. The boys come out with Black from their debut album, and follow it up with I Believe In Miracles, Baba O’Riley and Yellow Ledbetter. Yellow Ledbetter now will always bring a smile to my face, thinking about the lyrics “potato waves make me fries.” Sadly Pearl Jam is only playing one gig in America this summer, when they headline Lollapalooza in August. It’s a shame, as these guys are clearly riding a peak with their live shows. [...]
