While the verdict may still be out on Jimmy Fallon’s late night hosting abilities, the one thing that everyone can agree on is that as the house band The Roots are kicking some serious ass. The Philly hip hop collective have fully embraced their role from making up songs on the spot for audience members to clever walk-on music for guests to acting as a back up band for everyone from Smokey Robinson to Iggy Pop.

The creative juices must be at an all-time high between their late night duties and their recently wrapped residency at the Highline Ballroom as they somehow managed to sneak into the studio to record their ninth studio album How I Got Over. While the album – which was originally set to drop later this month – has been pushed back to February, The Roots have released a video for the record’s title track. Check it out….
