Pullin’ ‘Tubes: TV On The Radio Will Do

While TV On The Radio’s name recognition and popularity amongst folks in the the jam scene has exploded exponentially in the last year and a half, the Brooklyn-based act has actually been around since 2001. In fact, the group has been releasing critically acclaimed studios albums since 2004’s Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, which earned them the Shortlist Music Prize that year. The five-piece band plays a unique blend of psychedelic-electro-funk that contains elements of rock, soul and post-punk, conjuring up comparisons to everyone from Prince to David Bowie to the Talking Heads.

For their fourth proper studio album, the band took the show on the road in deciding to record for the first time outside the confines of Brooklyn. They headed to the group’s multi-instrumentalist/producer Dave Sitek’s new home studio in sunny Los Angeles, CA. TV On The Radio will kick off a 17-date North American tour on April 8 with a gig at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA.
