Recap of a Big Night in NYC: Hot Tuna Guests Galore, Tweedy @ Yo La Tengo & Warren w/ George Porter Jr.

Haynes headed right down to Sullivan Hall, where he joined George Porter Jr. and Runnin’ Pardners as the clock approached 2AM. Here’s video…

Across the Hudson at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, Jeff Tweedy was the surprise opener for Night Three of Yo La Tengo’s Hanukkah Run along with comedian Eugene Mirman and the Elysian Charter School of Hoboken Chorus. Tweedy sat in for the first half of YLT’s set, which included a cover of Wilco’s Jesus, Etc. Head over to Jesse Jarnow’s blog for the complete setlist from this show and each of the Yo La Tengo performances at Maxwell’s. YLT returns to Maxwell’s tonight, while the Wilco front man starts a brief solo acoustic tour at Bowery Ballroom.

What a hell of a night, eh? Heard last night (w/Weir, Oteil, Pete Sears, Bob Steeler and Steve Earle) was also off the chain. Brilliant jams.

For setlists, I’d check out Tunabase.com. Best Hot Tuna/Jorma/Jack setlist resource I know.

  3. Hi there, i appreciate the write-up! I have been following your blog for a couple of days now and i’m definitely having fun with it. I actually had a couple of questions concerning your blog post though. You think it could be achievable for me to contact you further to discuss it? Possibly setup a chat on e mail or an instant messanging application? If not, many thanks anyway and I’ll continue to read and comment.
