R.I.P. Les Paul (1915-2009)

Les Paul, the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar, has passed away at the age of 94 today from complications of severe pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York according to Northern New Jersey’s News 12 cable channel. The jazz guitarist’s invention led to the Rock n’ Roll revolution and over the years he’s played with many of the biggest names in the genre including Paul McCartney, Keith Richards and Steve Miller.

Recently, Paul had been performing every Monday the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City and spent most of his time at home in Mahwah, NJ with his extended family. Les Paul was one of the most important figures in the development of rock music and he will be sorely missed.

    now Jimi and Les can have that conversation over a Johnnie Walker Black. “Sing on brother, play on brothers”.

  2. I was lucky enough to see Les at the Iridium Club a couple of years ago, I will never forget that night. He was 93 and playing 2 shows and still found time to sign every autographs that people waited in line for. He helped make music what it is today and will be missed by many. Rest In Peace Les Paul, You certainly made your mark in your lifetime!
