After a few sites reported a purported Fleet Foxes (@fleetfoxes) cover of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own, the Swedish singer (@robynkonichiwa) tweeted her disappointment in learning the track was counterfeit. Turns out Fleet Foxes Sings isn’t, in fact, the Robin Pecknold led Fleet Foxes singing. It’s a parody/homage/mocking website dedicated to reverb heavy sound-alike takes on pop songs in the Pacific Northwest band’s style.

Robin and Robyn cleared things up and it may lead to a real Fleet Foxes cover of a Robyn song which if the fake is any indication would be fantastic.

hehe, "Fleet Foxes Sing" sure fooled me. I though it was some weird live moment with @ on radio 1 or something. Bummer.

@ Robyn! Even though FF Sings was fake we WILL cover something! I'm obsessed with you and think you're the greatest!

This wasn’t the first time the band had to address a FFS copycat track on Twitter, when they sent this last July.

We didn't do that Whitney Houston cover. Funny though!
