The good people at Destructoid are offering us the first view of Rock Band [via Gamespot], the new Guitar Hero game from Harmonix, MTV and Electronic Arts that’s sure to revolutionize the way gamer nerds stay pale in the summer. And based on the following video, I’d be shocked if this thing don’t sell like hotcakes.

Expected out this holiday season, the new four-instrument simulator may just be the greatest invention since bread sliced by width. Guitar Hero and its sequel provide hours of solo or dual entertainment, but now it’s fun for the whole crew — you and three friends can geek out on guitar, bass, drums and vocals.

While the video featured Welcome To The Jungle, a Harmonix employee has publicly stated that the song might not be included with the game. I hate to quote Wikipedia, but the Rock Band page has confirmed the following songs:

“(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” – Blue Öyster Cult
“In Bloom” – Nirvana
“Main Offender” – The Hives
“Mississippi Queen” – Mountain
“Paranoid” – Black Sabbath
“Rockaway Beach” – The Ramones
“Say It Ain’t So” – Weezer
“Suffragette City” – David Bowie
“Won’t Get Fooled Again” – The Who

We now know what a lot of people with too much time on their hands are getting for Christmas, Chanukkah and Kwanzaa this year.
