Rolling Stones Concert Film: Some Girls Live

One of the best parts about last year’s Rolling Stones’ Exile On Main Street re-release was the accompanying live DVD/Blu-Ray that came out along with it called Ladies and Gentleman The Rolling Stones. As Mick and Keith’s band prepares to reissue a cleaned up/deluxe version of 1978′s Some Girls, the Stones have once again paired a live concert DVD/Blu-Ray from the same period as the remastered studio release.

On October 18, Some Girls Live in Texas, a 85-minute concert film recorded in Fort Worth, Texas on July 18, 1978, will hit theaters across the country. A DVD/Blu-Ray release of Some Girls Live in Texas is set for a November 21 release and you can expect it to make Palladia’s rotation shortly thereafter.

While the Stones certainly perform the “new” Some Girls material such as Beast of Burden and Miss You during the film, there’s also versions of legendary hits such as Brown Sugar and Tumbling Dice.

Wasn’t this show broadcast live on pay per view? I recall the opening credits were written across a naked girl’s body.

I believe that was from 1981 at the Hampton Coliseum.
