Rumor Mill: Bowie To Headline Coachella
With the festival season right around the corner, the rumor mill is turning. Earlier today, Gigwise reported that concert promoter Golden Voice is currently courting David Bowie for the headline spot at this year’s Coachella Festival. Following in the footsteps of Roger Waters’ Dark Side Of The Moon set from last year, the article claims Golden Voice has asked him to perform his glam-rock classic The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust in its entirety.
Before you start booking that trip out to California, NME is currently denying that this will happen. Then again NME has a history of being wrong themselves. There’s no official word on when the Coachella lineup will be revealed, but what we do know is that the fest will take place from April 17 – 19 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA.
So is the Thin White Duke performing Ziggy Stardust enough to get you out to the desert this year? Leave your thoughts in the comments section…

I saw Bowie a few years back at Jones Beach- right before he got sick- and it was totally amazing. One of the best shows I have seen in a long time. I am not sure if he would get me all the way out to Cali- but it definitely got me thinking of a way to make it work…..add MMJ to the lineup and I am there

“Not true just yet. Quit jumping the gun.”
Don’t know how many ways Jeff could say this isn’t confirmed. Don’t know how this post is “jumping the gun.”

Bowie and DEVO would do it for me…..my fingers are crossed for a DEVO bonnaroo appearance.

I certainly don’t get as excited about Coachcella as I do about the ‘Roo line up – but Bowie doing Ziggy Stardust is a cool idea whether it happens there or not.

Didn’t mean to say it that way. Just hate playing the guessing game and make the artist feel awkward if it doesn’t actually happen. I just hate for bands to have to defend themselves ( contract or not ) if they are truly playing or not.
