Meet Bryan Saltus, a 37-year-old American golfer currently plying his trade on the Pro Asia Tour. Saltus claimed a victory this weekend at the inaugural Cambodian Open, his first championship trophy on the Asian Tour. So what’s this got to do with the price of apples (or, say, veggie burritos)? Instead of some poor schlub named God, Saltus dedicated his three-stroke victory to the Grateful Dead.
Saltus says he’s been to 153 Dead shows, and in winning his first title in three years on tour, he automatically becomes our favorite golfer. He leapt into the water hazard on the 18th hole after winning, so we imagine that counts as his shower for the month. We’ll keep abreast of Saltus’ upcoming tournaments to see whether he dedicates his future losses to Mickey Hart’s solo career. Congrats, Bryan.

marvelous.
When asked about the conditions of the Cambodian course Bryan responded: “This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.”
that is good stuff b easy.
maybe even our own “Ace” Cowboy should be the 4th in the foursome.
first song off the tee, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” as they ride off in their golf cart?
Perhaps they should play a morning round…walk out into the Morning Dew. Only Eleven holes though, of course.
That is freakin classic. Good job reporting; made my morning.
Marijuana consumption and golf have always made for a lovely afternoon. Especially if you throw golf carts into the mix.

I heard that John LeClair is gonna totally dedicate his 420th goal to Pork Tornado.
Oh no! Looks like a drug-addled pop star has hijacked me HT account!
