Some Thoughts on The Phish Dates
We’ve been discussing the Phish Summer Tour Dates at HT and Team HLA central and here are a few thoughts we have…

- The Fox Theater?!?! Are you kidding us? We love the mix of small and new venues and the tour. They are going from a venue that holds 5,060 people to two massive amphitheaters in the course of a weekend.
- For each of Phish’s tour date announcements they’ve created a video to show on the front page of Phish.com. These guys haven’t even played a show yet and they are already coming up with innovative ways to excite their audience.
- Anyone not believe us about Bonnaroo now?
- It’s interesting the band chose Jones Beach over other area venues considering the shed’s shitty reputation among fans and the Boathouse Incident.
- You’ve gotta love that Trey has already added his new Ross Compressor to his setup in the picture above.
Those are just a few of our preliminary thoughts. What do you think about the dates? Hitting any shows? Let us know by leaving a comment below…

Probably won’t be able to make it to any shows this year with my 1 year old, however…
Any calls for the opener at Hampton?
I have a few thoughts:

Jones Beach- Trey loves it there- Every time I have seen him there he says so! They are trying to change things up obviously and I think you will see more surprise venues -
The Hollywood Bowl in LA, Maybe Greek Theater in Berkeley or even the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in Golden Gate park and they have the same promoters as Bonarroo. This is PHISH being innovative.. Gotta love it!

Ha! Yeah, still a second leg coming soon. Any further word about those Pepsi Center dates, Joker?
January 8th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
i think its pretty cool all around, and i agree with the HT ideas…however im still waiting for the western US dates, which i still believe are happening. Too much hype about other venues for this to be it.
somebody got trey some pretty hott lookin kicks in that pic.

I booked rooms at the Alpine Lodge based on info from some other sites and now they say I gotta pay $25 and can’t even switch my rooms to the previous weekend. FUCK! I’ve learned my lesson.
January 8th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Jones Beach is utter garbage.

Scratchiti - See the two green boxes in front of Trey? It’s the silver rectangle right in front of the those pedals. No doubt.

How can you tell the Ross is in the picture? Can you guys do one of those blow-up pictures with the Ross circled or something?

Asheville finally gets some love…still hurting over that moe. Halloween cancellation a few years back! But, the Wolfe is a great venue. That will be awesome!
January 8th, 2009 at 2:47 pm
Yeah, agreed with Dave but here’s hoping :-). I can’t believe they are only doing one night at Great Woods. A two night run has been a standard forever. Any why not SPAC or Darien Lakes instead of Jones Beach. Better/Bigger venues that were always on the shed tours of the past….

Page looks like a linebacker in that picture! Cheers fellas! We are so glad you’re back.

As excited as I am right now (and believeyoume it’s at an 11), I can’t help but think it’s gonna be a very similar to the Hampton lottery. Overwhelming requests, a TM on-sale that is over in 1.1 minutes, and inflated prices from brokers for the smaller venues (JB, Fox, Ashville). But I’m keeping it positive and can’t wait for June…or March for that matter.

Some ABB tickets are $150!!! Viva La Phish!
January 8th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Agreed. It’ll be interesting to see how outrageous the Dead prices will be. And ABB at the Beacon, that’s gotta be over a hundred bucks a pop by now, right?
Vive le poisson!
January 8th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I just think it’s awesome that Phish continues to sell their tickets at one price regardless of the location of the seat.
