moe. Guitarist Al Schnier let the cat out of the bag about some of the band additions to the Summer Camp Festival at last night’s moe. concert in Chicago. Schnier mentioned that the following bands have been added to the lineup:
- Les Claypool
- Medeski, Martin, and Wood
- Tea Leaf Green
- Oteil and the Peacemakers
- Toubab Krewe
- Hot Buttered Rum String Band
- 56 Hope Road
- Groovatron
- The Wailers
While this information is yet to turn up on the festival’s website, we can only imagine Al knows of which he speaks. The crowd went when Schnier announced Toubab Krewe’s inclusion thinking he had said 2 Live Crew. I think 2 Live Crew is a just little too jammy for this crowd. Too many lyrics as well.
The 7th annual Summer Camp Festival will take place May 25, 26, and 27 at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. Previously announced acts include moe. (three nights), Umphrey’s McGee (two nights), and Keller Williams. Early bird tickets have sold out, but three-day passes (which include camping) are still available.
