Back in April when we launched the @Hidden_Track Twitter account, we kicked things off with a B List of 20 Twitter Feeds to Follow. Number One on the list was Grace Potter (@gracepotter) of Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. The HT fave was an easy choice thanks to her consistent updates and behind-the-scenes pictures from the road. Though Potter was the only female in our list of 10 Bands to follow, there are plenty more worth following, and here’s 10 more Women who rock and are worthy of a follow.

1. Amanda Palmer (@amandapalmer)

Palmer is highly engaging of her rabid fans, often stirring conversations about whatever is currently relevant in her life. She also drops info on secret “ninja” shows alerting followers to when and where to catch her.

2. Neko Case (@NekoCase)

Case is quick to reply to her followers and is great at updating from the road. Her recent tour with My Morning Jacket was well documented by her 140 character updates.

3. Lilly Allen (@MrsLRCooper)

Though Allen seems to be more interested in tweeting than making records these days, her feed is entertaining and at times controversial. Never shy to tell it like it is, Allen’s tweets can be as sharp as her tongue.

3. Rosanne Cash (@rosannecash)

Cash is another who is quick to reply to tweets from followers. She’s also not afraid to hold back any opinion, music related or not. With over 40,000 tweets she by far the most prolific on the list.

4. Best Coast (@bestycoastyy)

Bethany Cosentino handles the tweeting for the band’s feed. Though some of her tweets focus on the mundane her penchant for tweeting at fellow musicians helps give a look inside the bustling indie chillwave scene.

5. Alicia Keys (@aliciakeys)

Keys injects much of her personality into her feed. Highly engaging with her followers, she often shares what music she’s listening to and asks for suggestions, all while keeping up on her day-to-day activities.

6. Zooey Deschanel (@therealzooeyd)

Deschanel, or the “She” of She and Him, or Mrs. Ben Gibbard, is a big fan of the re-tweet. When she’s not resending someone else’s message, Deschanel is prone to provide insight to her life as actress and indie songstress darling.

7. St. Vincent (@st_vincent)

Annie Clark’s tweeting has a very personal feel to it. She will tweet about whatever is inspiring her, be it a song, an image or an event that happened to her. Her feed is great for updates on her touring as well.

8. Sheryl Crow (@SherylCrow)

Crow’s feed is a blend of personal messages and updates from her handlers. Although she’s not always tweeting herself, when she does take the wheel her messages are typically informative and personal.

9. Missy Elliot (@MissyElliott)

Elliot, more so than anyone else on the list, will reply to a tweet directed at her. Elliot’s feed is filled with @ replies to her fans and followers. She answers questions, offers “thank-yous” and is genuinely interactive with her fellow tweeters.

10. Erykah Badu (@fatbellybella)

Badu’s account is as cool as she is, with tweets effortlessly shifting from what’s she’s playing to a comment on society. Badu’s able to avoid sounding preachy, while showing she’s as hip as anyone with 140 characters.
