I was about to say:

Where the hell did this info come from:

"This summer, Zappa Plays Zappa is embarking on a major tour with Ray White as a special guest."

Then I realized this was from 2007. Tricky, guys, tricky!

The problem with this show was that the women who were hot back in the early 80's and wearin' spandex and halter tops were still trying to pull that look off now in 2007.
Old lady hooters just don't do it for me.

I saw the boys in Vancouver last night. It was a great show and on and on. But what about "Wolfie"? He was great. He hit every note, every harmonic, every shot, he didn't miss a beat. Wow! my question is what happens after the show? "Hey son wanna share a bottle of Jagermeister, maybe a couple a'lines of blow, or should we share a few 45 year old MILF's on the bus" Man it must be great to be 16 and in the biggest rock show on the road right now!! Cheers brother. Jim

Just experienced Van Halen rocking the world here in Portland, Oregon (12/01/07)...completely amazing. Personally, I would go just to hear/see EVH on guitar. He looked completely great and plain happy to be playing. I certainly didn't expect to see any musician of his age --post-cancer survival, post hip-surgery, post-rehab-- still rocking like no tomorrow, hopping in guitar-playing bliss around the stage and doing mid-air splits! I liked some of the VanHagar, but I have to say that I specifically wanted to catch VH on the road with Diamond Dave again. I admit, I was in a hurry to grab one of these concerts 'cause history made it seem likely that the whole thing might blow apart on the road between Eddie and Dave. However, in this concert, they looked like they were having a blast together and really enjoying working together. The production was very egalitarian in sharing the stage and smooth on working together. There were times when Dave and Eddie were singing together, or Dave was visibly grooving on Eddie's riffs and making sure the spotlight was going to him, when they looked like the best buddies in the world, just happy to be making the knock-you-on-your-ass-laughing-with-joy happiness that is Van Halen in the groove! Alex drummed for hours like a man on fire! Wolfgang looked to be doing a fine job, and very babyfaced young and serious, loosening up and smiling a bit more toward the end --definitely not a big showman at this point in his development, and probably appropriate that he's not --we already have EVH and DLR on stage together and that's a lot of starpower! Frankly, I enjoyed seeing Eddie jamming with his own son, it was a really good energy, and I enjoyed watching Dave make sure he connected with Wolfie too ...and when the VHalen young'un was strolling back and rocking with his uncle on the drums in the background. No offense to those who love Michael Anthony, but whatever the personality conflicts were within the band, none of us knows the truth from gossip and the plain fact is that this isn't the Michael Anthony band --I go to see Edward Van Halen make the guitar sing for him like it does for no other, and I see Eddie and his brother as a rock-steady duo, I'm super glad I got to see the band with Dave doing his crazy but fun-loving thing ...and that's the best for me. Portland was on it's feet in the arena from beginning to end ...sometimes it was hard to even hear the vocals because there was so much ecstatic cheering and singing along --didn't seem to bother Dave that much as his focus genuinely seemed to be that everyone on stage and in the crowd was having the best night of their life! I could not believe how GREAT Dave and Eddie looked! I frankly wouldn't have thought I'd want to see shirtless Dave or Eddie at this point in their lives --Ladies, I was wrong! Woo-whee! Dave gave leather pants a reason to continue... and the man can still do mid-air leaps with kicks over his head! Eddie actually makes baggy camo pants erotic, who'd have thought?! Beyond the physical appeal, the energy was simply beyond belief. And one happy picture in my head, that keeps replaying, is when the crowd greeted them as they came onstage with a roar of pure happy celebration and love --VAN HALEN IS HERE! THEY'RE WITH US AGAIN!-- and there was a pause as the audience just rampaged with their welcome --and the guys (I particularly remember Eddie and Dave standing together) with looks of pure wonder and happiness on their faces. We simply love ya, boys!

A 'reunion' tour is just that...a reunion of original band members from an earlier time. This is not a reunion tour. It seems that all the turmoil ultimately has EVH as a common element. DLR is an overly outgoing showman...EVH should accept that, or move on. SH had ideas to contribute and pop know-how...EVH should accept that, or move on. But to bounce back and forth between singers (and now bass players); pissed off at them one minute, friends the next, just shows how he's not thinking clearly. Perhaps the bottle was doing a lot of the thinking for him in the past. And now the VH bros have crossed a line that will be hard to backpeddle from. Should the current bass player not live up to expectations...does EVH dump his son for someone else? And if so, should Alex become worried? A slippery slope indeed!

So now it's just a VH tour with a new member. Let's hope WVH is mature enough to handle the heat, which is sure to flame around him. MA, even though he did not have the VH last name, was just as important to VH the band as VH the brothers were/are. I'm happy to see that he's appearing to be the better man by being professional about the situation and supportive of WVH. But I believe there is a small part of him that wishes he was preping for the upcoming tour. If he was involved, at least VH and the promoters could actually bill it as a 'reunion tour'. There should still be some truth in advertising...shouldn't there?
