Excellent list mang, be sure to check out Gateway: Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and John Abecrombie. AWESOME! Maybe more of a gig versus a side project, as all them jazz cats get into bed together at one point or another, but worth noting nonetheless.

Great list, pardner. I wouldn’t put them in my Top Ten, but I’d like to throw my two cents in for Robert Walter’s 20th Congress (Greyboy Allstars side project). Maybe it doesn’t quite fit the criteria because it started after Greyboy’s hiatus I believe, but give me RW on the funky organ and I’m a happy marthafocker. Throw in a rendition of Jug Eyes, and I’m flailing around like a super-drunk Spreadhead.
