Wyllys! I used to go to a couple rane. shows 10 or so years ago and although I don't think you were directly responsible for getting me into Ben Folds Five (another friend who also knew you is responsible for that) I always equate you and them :)

Well, if you go back to my original comment I chose mostly huge pop records because hipsters like yourself would just list esoteric indie rock bands to make yourself more pitchfork-y. There are tons of great fall records. I went the pop route so that those giants wouldn't get lost in a sea of records almost no one has listened to.

At first I thought ok these are good albums but (for me) dont really get me going for the fall season. Im from the adirondack mountains in New York. Specifically Saranac Lake where M.O.E just played the tiny bar Waterhole #3. So fall here is very impressive to say the least. Everything you want from fall you get right here. My first phish show was Lake Placid 1995 and Billy Breaths was the first CD I heard from the band that really gave me a specific emotion. I like them all but when Billy Breathes came out I listened to it for days upon days. Now every fall it comes out. What a great article.

Great list and comments I might add. As s outhern boy from ATL, I'd also have to put Widespread Panics' Everyday on this list. It just has a chilly feeling about it. Hatfiled bringing the rain, teh slow rythem of Papa's, the traveling imagery of Stop n Go, Wonderin, Postcards is great after shows, and caping it off with a sleepy Dream SOng.

That's it, I'm going for a drive right now with that album. I'll be back in 59 minutes 42 seconds.
