The Biscuit Boys did a great, tight, bluegrass version of this on their first (and only) non-live album circa about 2002...

If you're a fan of the Basement Tapes material, you ought to check out a CD called "Marquee Mark," by The Crust Brothers. It is a recording of a live show by most of the members of Silkworm with special guest star Stephen Malkmus, of Pavement-fame.

Here is a decent explanation explanation of the side project, which apparently benefited some environmental defense fund.

The bulk of the music is covered from Dylan/The Band's Basement Tapes collection, and the cover of You Ain't Goin' Nowhere is probably my favorite of the lot ... with only the rippin' version of "Mrs. Henry" threatening to unseat it. Another highlight is how they called the nightly audience's bluff, upping the "Freebird" ante by turning out a pretty passable cover of "Tuesday's Gone" instead.

Blog artist Captains Dead has a few of the songs at this April post one of which is from the Basement Tapes covers.

Great stuff! Love this song and love The Basement Tapes. Kids you don't own this album go out and buy it pronto - Bob and The Band making music that sounded like nothing else that was being recorded at the time.
