If the traditional gift for one’s first anniversary is paper, what exactly do you get a website? Our suggestion: barrels of cash. Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of this here rag, and over the course of the next week there’ll surely be some celebratory self-sucking in honor of this unfortunate milestone.

When the Glide Magazine folks brought us on board a year ago, we tentatively agreed to a schedule of “at least three posts a week.” Since then we’ve published 1,048 posts — not bad for two guys with fairly demanding day jobs — and you’ve responded with 4,351 comments. It’s truly been a fun and exciting year, as it often is when you don’t take anything too seriously. Slade Sohmer

In 2006 Slade Sohmer founded Hidden Track along with current EiC Scott Bernstein. Slade ran the site until 2008, establishing a scope of coverage and level of professionalism that still exists today. In 2010 Sohmer founded HyperVocal with Lee Brenner and the "purveyors of the vital and viral" have gone on to create a network of highly acclaimed sites that includes Headlines That Suck, Weeping Elvis, Distriction and Spike The Water Cooler.
