  1. Petty is one of the few classics I haven’t seen live. People seem to give mixed reviews of his lives shows. I could think only that he would kick a lot off ass and it would be worth the money. Yes?

  2. He’s definitely worth seeing. I caught him for the first time in ’06 and then again at Outside Lands, he puts on a great show and makes you realize just how many of his songs you know. Loving the openers hoping for MMJ at MSG.

  3. Tom Petty released “Highway Companion” on July 25, 2006. While it was not a TP & THB album, many of the members of the band contributed. This was released after “The Last DJ”

  4. Bonnie, Highway Companion didn’t feature many of the Heartbreakers. Mike Campbell and Tom were the only 2 from the Heartbreakers who contributed. Jeff Lynne was the only other musician who played on the entire album, it was a 3-man project. Tom Petty even played drums on it.

  5. I don’t know, I’ve seen Tom Petty 6 times and I can’t imagine a bad show. Can’t wait for toronto.

Got the album free when I ordered my tickets at http://mthirty.com/livenation.html.
That alone makes me impressed with this tour, not sure if its him or someone else deciding these things, but hes ahead of the classic rock pack in this regard.

  6. Despite the heavyhanded hype of this album, and whole “It’s been a long wait, but worth it….”tone of the article, I’m not hearing a damn thing on it that sounds any different than any other Heartbreakers’ CD. Good band, and they have a working formula, but really nothing new or groundbreaking here…
