With the Black Crowes once again on an extended hiatus, minus the handful of European dates the band scheduled this summer, Chris Robinson isn’t wasting anytime in getting back on the road with a new band for an exclusive tour up and down California. The mysterious new act called Chris Robinson Brotherhood, that according to Jambase includes psych-folk singer Jonathan Wilson and fellow Crowe Adam MacDougall, will play a 33-date run that kicks off on March 28 at the Echoplex in Los Angeles.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood Fans – Be sure check out our story on Bob Weir sitting in with the band and head to the CRB website for a current list of tour dates.

If you’re not fortunate enough to live in California and can’t catch Chris with his new band, then maybe you’ll be able to hit one of these recently announced tours…

Finally, on May 7, Bob Weir will join the 41-piece Marin Symphony Orchestra for a special night that will celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead dubbed First Fusion. The concert, which was originally scheduled to take place last October, will feature Dead tunes orchestrated and arranged for the first time by noted composer-arranger Dr. Giancarlo Aquilanti of Stanford University and Bobby. Joining Weir at the Marin Center in San Rafael that night will be his one-time RatDog band mates Jeff Chimenti, Jay Lane, Robin Sylvester and Rob Wasserman, who will all take part in a special jam session with the orchestra at the end of the program. Tickets for this special night will go on sale on February 4 via Ticketmaster and at the Marin Center Box Office.
